The T-shirt depicts a part of a longer text about “Winning a war against Yick’aak B’alam”, the king of Seibal.
In 735 AD Ucha’an K’in B’alam, the third king of Dos Pilas, attacked Seibal, capturing Yich’aak B’alam. Ucha’an K’in B’alam raised monuments to his victory over Seibal at Dos Pilas, Aguateca and Seibal itself.
Yich’aak B’alam is shown under the feet of Ucha’an K’in B’alam.
Aguateca is an important Mayan site located in the Peten region of northern Guatemala. Historically, the site dates back to the Late Pre Classic Period (300 BC to 350 AD) and was one of a number of important settlements in the area including Dos Pilas and Seibal.
